Daniel 6:10
Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime.
Now when Daniel learned that the decree had been published, he went home to his upstairs room where the windows opened toward Jerusalem. Three times a day he got down on his knees and prayed, giving thanks to his God, just as he had done before.
But when Daniel learned that the law had been signed, he went home and knelt down as usual in his upstairs room, with its windows open toward Jerusalem. He prayed three times a day, just as he had always done, giving thanks to his God.
When Daniel knew that the document had been signed, he went to his house where he had windows in his upper chamber open toward Jerusalem. He got down on his knees three times a day and prayed and gave thanks before his God, as he had done previously.
In Daniel 6, we see an example of thankfulness and prayer in the midst of difficult circumstances. Daniel had been thrown into the den of lions for praying to God instead of the king. Despite his situation, he “gave thanks before his God”.
This thankfulness demonstrates a trust in God and faith in his plan, even while facing uncertain and potentially dangerous consequences.
Daniel’s thankfulness is a powerful reminder to us as we go through stressful times; thankfulness gives us the strength and courage to keep trusting in God no matter where we find ourselves, rather than cowering in fear.

Colossians 3:15

All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.
