The Bible is full of stories and quotes that encourage people that faith in Jesus is the way to Heaven. In Ephesians Paul says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith.” Faith involves understanding that Jesus willingly died for our sins and trusting in His promises.
Through faith we are invited into relationship with God and empowered with the Holy Spirit to live a life characterized by joy, peace and love. To have faith in Jesus is to actively rely on Him as the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), trusting Him especially in times of struggle or adversity.
Then Hebrews describes what faith is with, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” We hope in a God we haven’t seen face to face because we see evidence of His works all around. We also have heard and read His word, which encourage our faith.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.
God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

Ephesians 2 is a pinnacle Bible verse about faith, that Christians are saved only by grace through faith, and not by the good works we do.
Paul is encouraging the Ephesian church to stop relying on themselves to earn their way to Heaven. Instead, they (and we) should accept Jesus’ death on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins as being forgiven, and saved.
There’s no works we can do to earn God’s assurance of Heaven. We are sinful people in need of a savior. Thankfully, Jesus provided a way through the cross, and all we need to do is accept this free gift.
Matthew 17:20
And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

“You don’t have enough faith,” Jesus told them. “I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible.”
He said to them, “Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you.”
This Bible verse about faith is a strong reminder of the power we can find in our faith. With even the smallest amount of trust in God, we can do incredible things.
As Jesus says in the passage, even an impossibly high mountain can be moved if we believe. If we commit to having true faith that all things are possible with God’s help, then nothing will stand in our way.

Hebrews 12:1-2
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Jesus is the “founder and perfecter of our faith.” He made a way for Christians to enter into God’s presence through His death on the cross.
Jesus knew what He was facing with his horrible death. He did it anyway because He also knew what good would come from His sacrifice for all people.
Finally, Jesus gets to sit “at the right hand of the throne of God.” His work is complete and all we have to do is believe in faith.
1 Peter 1:8-9
Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:
9 Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 1:8-9 offers insight into the tremendous capacity for joy that Christ brings to us.
In verse 8, we are encouraged to have sincere love for each other; as Peter reminds us, this leads us to a joy that is inexpressible and full of glory. This joy is given by God, which enables us to remain steadfast and focused on our faith even in the midst of trials and tribulations.
Such joy enabled early Christian believers who were persecuted to maintain hope and trust in God while they endured suffering, thus confirming how powerful a force true faith can be.
Verse 9 further emphasizes the lasting quality of this joy—such blessing will not fade away but rather will remain forever.
Luke 7:50
And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1 is one of the Bible’s most important verses describing what faith is.
It says that “faith is confidence in what we hope for.” We should be confident in God, who Jesus is and what He did for us, the Bible, and the eternity that is to come in Heaven.
This verse also says faith is “assurance about what we do not see.” We don’t have to see God’s face to believe and have faith in Him. His works and goodness are all around us, we just have to look around.
James 1:2–4
My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;
3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.
4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.
Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. 3 For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
These Bible verses about faith are an encouragement that we can find strength in hard times through our faith.
James 1 says to count these trials as joy because when we are pushed beyond our comfort zone, we are sure to increase our faith.
This is a great way to view hard things in life. That no matter what we’re going through, we can count it as blessing because eventually, with God’s help, it can make our faith incredibly strong and powerful.
Mark 9:24
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

Even believers can struggle with a lack of faith. We will all go through hard times that will test us, make us question things, and (hopefully) grow us closer to God.
This story told in Mark 9 is about a boy who was possessed by an evil spirit. Jesus healed this boy, casting out the spirit because His father asked Jesus to help his small faith increase. Jesus knew this man’s heart so he knew the man was being honest.
We can also ask for stronger faith. When we have doubts and questions we can come to God and ask for the things we need to increase our faith. He wants to come alongside us and help us trust in Him more everyday.
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.
And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.
This scripture teaches us the importance of putting our faith in God, which allows for us to grow deeper in our relationship with Him.
By believing in Him, we are taking a crucial step in connecting with Him and His will. As Christians, we are called to continuously put our trust in Him. With that said, when we do just that, our faith is rewarded abundantly.
Matthew 21:22
And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”

Matthew 21:22 is a scripture that beautifully displays the power and importance of prayer. As Jesus tells us, “If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.”
This verse illustrates our ability to draw on divine strength and peace through prayer when we have faith, no matter how impossible our situation may feel. It’s a reminder that sometimes all we need to move forward is belief in something greater than ourselves and the courage to ask Him for assistance in the form of prayer.
Beyond all the struggle or confusion, prayer can provide both direction and understanding. Even if we don’t quite understand how our request will be answered, faith allows us to open up to miraculous possibilities as long as we are willing to put forth trust in divine guidance.
Mark 11:22-24
And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
Then Jesus said to the disciples, “Have faith in God. 23 I tell you the truth, you can say to this mountain, ‘May you be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ and it will happen. Mark 11:22-24 reveals an essential teaching of Jesus regarding faith.
Jesus encourages Christians to have faith that God can do anything in His will. As we seek after His will, we can be a vessel for amazing miracles!

Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Galatians 2:20 is a transformative verse for Christians. It explains that we are not saved by works of the Law, but rather by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:

Mark 10:52
And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.
And Jesus said to him, “Go, for your faith has healed you.” Instantly the man could see, and he followed Jesus down the road.
And Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has made you well.” And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him on the way.
When Jesus met a blind man and said to him in Mark 10:52 “Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole” it was an incredible example of His power and love.
The man’s faith was so strong that in an instant, he had regained his sight! It is a reminder to us today that if we place our trust in God and have faith, He will show us the path forward and give us strength. He is always ready and willing to help us however He can, even when it seems impossible.
Jesus reminded us through these Bible verses about faith that anything is possible with God on our side, no matter how overwhelming a situation may seem.
